Snapchat

This app was created by three Stanford students and launched in 2011. Telegram was launched in 2013, and today has more than 200 million users. In 2014 won 5million new users when the WhatsApp stayed offline for few hours and its fame increased.

It’s a service based in the cloud, so the messages don’t stay stored in your cellphone, it is available for desktop and mobile devices, is a strong competitor of WhatsApp both offers similar services but in many people’s opinion and my opinion, the telegram has more resources to offer. At first, there was only the version for IOS, but in a small-time receive version for Android.
In 2016 reached 100 million monthly active users, and in 2017 this number changed for 180 million.

In the Telegram app, you can create big groups of up to 200 thousand members, secret or open groups, on the platform, there is the streaming of videos and songs. You can program in private chats with a high service of cryptograph messages, videos, images and audios for disappearing after a certain time, you can find people without their phone number only use their names, edit photos and videos besides many other functions that are available in that platform.

WhatsApp

It was created by two ex-Yahoo employees in 2009, which is very useful in many countries but not so much in the U.S.A. In 2014 was evaluated in 1,5 billion, and sold for Facebook of US$ 19 billion.

Offers many resources to the users and started as a substitute for the SMS, the original idea is not similar with the version that we use nowadays, at first they had the goal of making the app show your status for the numbers in your contact schedule in cellphone when you were busy or something like that, but they started to change this for cooler things, by the time started to becomes a messenger for the users. And they turned the WhatsApp into a messaging app.

Over time mainly after being purchased by Facebook started to have new resources like video and audio calls, status continuing being available on the app, and more recent resources give to the user the possibility of share status in the shape of video and photo that disappear after 24 hours.
